The instructions for the 18 inch SAM® Junior are the same as they are for the standard 36 inch SAM® Splint:
First, curve the SAM® Junior lengthwise to make it rigid.
For an adult or child's arm, place the SAM® Junior under the forearm to treat a wrist fracture or for use as an IV board. Secure with gauze or tape.
Sufferers of carpal tunnel syndrome may find relief wearing this splint at night. For extended wear, pad the splint with absorbent material
Just half the size of the regular SAM®
Even though you can cut a regular SAM® Splint to the size you want, it exposes the aluminum. Sometimes it is more convenient to have the size you need - and the aluminum is sealed completely.
Stabilize a child's leg with a single SAM® Junior folder under the foot and applied to each side of the leg.
For adults, two SAM® Juniors may be used, one applied to each side of the ankle with the tip curved underneath the foot.
